What Is Polishing
Polishing can be carried out as a process or technical means alone, or it can be one of the processes in sheet metal processing.
Polishing, which is also a processing method of the workpiece, is to make the rough surface of the workpiece bright and smooth through mechanical, chemical or electrochemical methods, or to modify the surface of the workpiece to achieve the desired effect. From the above explanation of polishing, we can see that polishing cannot improve the dimensional accuracy or geometric accuracy of the workpiece, but it can only improve the surface condition. In addition, polishing is divided into rough and fine, which can be divided into two types: rough polishing and fine polishing.
Rough polishing is mainly used to remove the unevenness of the surface of the workpiece and reduce the surface roughness. It can remove a margin of about 0.01mm. For fine polishing, it can reach the level of surface brightness, and its surface roughness is not greater than 0.01 microns.
